Am I the only one who feels that we seem to rejoice more over the appointment of Kamla Harris in US and strong candidature of Rishi Sunak in UK than having Draupadi Murmu elected as our own President?
How can we stop pretending that #indians who immigrate to more “developed” countries and achieve a certain stature are more #successful than those who achieve much greater feats in our home country.
👉Remember that Kamla Harris and Rishi Sunak are hardly Indians. They just have a direct or indirect #family connection to #India and that’s it! In fact, looking at their background neither should we expect any political or geographical favors- whether we need them or not is another matter.
Can we #stop obsessing about foreign leaders of Indian origin please? 🙏🙏🙏 Time for us to be more confident and comfortable in our own skin.
