Once in a lifetime, legends like Sudha Murthy are born, who inspire for generations to come. Apart from many incredible stories she has told, one that stands out for me is her own.
- She was a born in a middle-class family 👪👪 in Karnataka and soon discovered her passion for engineering.
- Her desire for being technically educated 📙📙 was so strong that it didn’t deter her from being the only woman in a batch of 599!
- She was given strict conditions to ensure that men in her class 👨👨 don’t get “distracted” by her presence.
- The college education ended but her struggle didn’t 😞😞 Most of the engineering job posts didn’t allow women to apply.
- The fighter spirit 💪💪 made her write a letter (also enclosed in picture below) to JRD Tata himself, where she highlighted this unjust treatment.
- Eventually, she ended up being the first woman engineer working at Tata Motors
It is a matter of pride 👍👍that she is one of those few women whose identity is much more than a famous husband’s wife! 🙏🙏
