The talent acquisition industry has never been shy about embracing innovation. The internet arrived and soon after, online job search portals were all over the place; LinkedIn launched in 2003 and is now lookup guide of every recruiter.
Continuing the trend, here are the top 3 technology advancements recruitment industry is looking up to:
1) Big Data – It can help to predict hiring needs of companies in real-time. A specific branch of it called People Analytics can further help a recruiter to analyse the data of great talent already existing in the company in order to predict the skills needed to succeed in a specific role. This approach is ought to be much better than the hard skills focused job descriptions we have today.
2) Contextual search– It refers to searching and analysing what the candidate is looking for – much beyond what they type. A great opportunity is often missed since search function of the tools we use today rely solely on limited boolean criterias. New age tools like Textkernel and Spotle are much more smarter in understanding what the candidate wants to convey.
3) Gamification– It is the process of adding game mechanics to non-gaming contexts. By integrating gamification in common interview processes, a recruiter has the opportunity to introduce fun games and interactive quizzes. This approach has the potential of making the screening mechanism more conversational, entertaining and meaningful.
