Intelligent Video Analysis from Microsoft

siddhi thakkar video analysis

How many times have we missed getting insights from videos without actually having to watch them! These desired insights could be anything- ranging from who features in the videos to what is being said there. Last few days, I spent sometime analyzing the different video analysis tools that can solve such problems – and by far, I have found Microsoft’s Video Indexer to be the coolest one. Some of its typical benefits over other tools include:

  1. Not only face detection, but celebrity identification.
  2. Recognize emotional state of the speakers featured in the video.
  3. Extract text that is (visually) displayed in the video.
  4. Translate it into multiple languages.
  5. Perform search based on what is said and you will be redirected to exactly that point.

To see it in action, you can refer to the attached picture that demonstrates the results of my experimentation with a sample video) or follow this link to upload your own.

P.S. No one from Microsoft paid me for this video analysis post, i just loved the possibilities there 😉
