A couple of educational institutions across the world have banned ChatGPT claiming that it will hamper learnings of students.
I disagree.
- First and foremost, you can never ever put an effective technology ban on millenials and GenZ who are born with the internet.
- Secondly, I personally feel that the only skill ChatGpt or other AI tools would interfere with is how much cramming students are expected to do.
Instead of banning usage of AI tools, schools need to reinvent themselves to ensure that our kids develop the ability to ask the right questions- rather than blabbering a crammed response. How many times have you been on google and thinking about the right way to ask the question you have in mind!
In times to come what will matter more is your ability to ask the right questions, because if you do that efficiently, the numerous AI tools available can always give you the right answers.
