I finished reading this amazing book called Linchpins towards the end of last year and still basking in the glory of what I learnt. Some key takeaways:

  1. Linchpins are basically those folks in your organization who are the driving forces behind things. They are extremely passionate, own and do things as if their life depends on the work at hand.
  2. Extraordinary people don’t do extraordinary things, they just do small things in an extraordinary way. Think of that waiter in the coffee shop who serves everything with a big smile on his face, you may end up remembering him more than the coffee he served.
  3. If you are not the best at what you are doing, you are not indispensable. Go, find something that you are awesome at.
