Nightmarish spread of deadly coronavirus has claimed more than 1000 lives so far- and that’s just the officially released figure! The actual number is expected to be much more than this. The world over is making use of technology to control the havoc in following ways:
- created by a bunch of French expats, an interactive web app shows real-time updates on spread of virus.
- another app by the name of close contact detector helps people to gauge if they are at risk of catching virus.
- medical chatbots are being used to screen feverish and coughing citizens to further advise if they should be evaluated for coronavirus infection.
- usage of robotic cleaners is helping to spray disinfectants at segregated hospital wards.
- daily reports are being produced using AI algorithms to speed up the monitoring process.
- individuals at high-risk are receiving calls from a voice recognition bots that asks questions and recommends home quarantine. Based on your condition, you are advised to stay indoors for a 14-day quarantine observation… We will send your information to community health centers for follow-up, and please contact the residential committee for any help,” the AI bot told one recipient.
- drones are equipped with loudspeakers to monitor citizens seen in open areas without face masks. One video showed an elderly woman being scolded for not wearing a mask.
