The recent waves of digital transformation and our inclination to bring technology in every aspect of life is expected to bring some revolutionary changes in the cars we drive today. Here are some facts to look up to:
- A luxury car has a computing power of 20 personal computers and can process 25GB of data every hour.
- A Mercedes Benz has more lines of code than a Boeing Dreamliner aircraft.
- New business models are emerging for car companies to cater continuous software upgrade demands and setting up of 24×7 helplines.
- The amount of data storage offered is becoming an additional factor for buyers to consider.
- The always-connected internet cars let your car manufacturers know where you are (another major blow to privacy).
- Increasingly complex nature of cars might deem roadside vendors unemployed unless they upgrade themselves.
- Last, but not least, car sellers have to be aware of deleting their data from used cars (very much like phone). The other related issue of the possibility of cars being hacked is also imminent.
