Agile can serve as a huge propeller to make the changes needed for digital transformation in at least the following ways:
- Customer-eccentricity: Digital transformation recognizes that the customer must always be placed at the center of everything we do. Agile reinforces that idea by emphasizing on gathering requirements in user’s language and keeping a consistent focus on delivering business value.
- Continuous improvement: Since digital transformation is a process that should never end, it’s imperative to be continuously improving along the way. Inspect & Adapt mechanism of Agile ensures that the teams are constantly introspecting their ways of working and the results they are producing to be able to adjust behaviors accordingly.
- Complete transparency: For a successful digital transformation to happen, the business and IT units need to work together with a clear vision of organizational challenges that need to be solved. Agile assists in that aspect too by encouraging the formation of cross-functional delivery teams that span across several departments.
